BETWEEN US GODDESSES is a romantic, funny play about creative blocks and the many conflicts that make a unique life. LAURA thinks her friend LIZZY'S secret divorce is a joke -- especially when she learns she's the only one who's kept the secret. Does the dream world they both inhabit hold any answers to the problems of marriage -- or of what we now call relationship?
Enter an ancient Hindu god and goddess -- SHIVA, Lord of the Dance and KALI his warrior wife -- whose love affair is probably the oldest surviving sacred marriage (more than 4000 years at least.).
With original songs and choreography by Broadway star Todd Hunter, and Vedic hymns arranged by Ravi Shankar. Also featuring the world premiere of a new song Todd has just composed from Emerson's BRAHMA.
"The production's secret weapon is the tabla wiz, Morgan Doctor. Her heady, hypnotic drumming intensifies both the mood and pace."
