MARIE BEATH BADIAN - BIOGRAPHY
orn and raised in Toronto, Marie Beath is a performer, writer, instructor and director.

Her performance and installation art has been featured in Nightwood Theatre’s Hysteria Festival of Women and Buddies in BadTimes Theatre’s Rhubarb Festival.  Marie Beath was Associate Artistic Director at Theatre Direct Canada in 2003. She was the 2004 recipient of their inaugural Jessica Fraser Award, recognizing excellence and dedication to the practice of Theatre for Young Audiences.  She continues on with the company as Associate Artist.  She is also the director of the Blyth Festival Young Company in Blyth, Ontario.  She is  facilitator for Nightwood Theatre’s Write from the Hip Young Playwrights program.

Her play NOVENA has recently been adapted into a multiple character radio drama for CBC’s Where is Here? series inspired by stories of immigration.  It is published in a collection of the same name by Scirocco Drama.
